Our Georgia Lions Convention is fast approaching. One of the highlights of the Convention is the presentation of the Anne Sullivan Award. This is an award presented for recognition of outstanding achievement in working with handicapped children. There are many people throughout the state deserving of this award. Any Lions or Lioness Club can make a nomination, and the recipient does not have to be a Lion. All nominations must be submitted by April 15, 2018. Details on the nomination process can be downloaded from the Georgia Lions website at http://georgialions.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Anne-Sullivan-Awd-2017-2018.pdf. Nominations need to be submitted to the Chair of the Anne Sullivan Award Committee. Lion Johnnie Collier 1995 Woodberry Run Snellville, GA. 30078 Email:...Read More

With six facilitators leading the Camp, 28 Georgia Lions completed the weekend sessions. The purpose of the Camp was to identify and encourage new Lions leaders to pursue leadership roles. Topics covered were (1)How To Develop My Leadership Skills; (2)Leadership Opportunities Beyond the Club Level; (3)Ethics and the Lions Club; (4)Personal Integrity and How It Affects Leadership; (5)Developing Good Members Through Service; and (6) The Global Action Team. Lions attending were given the opportunity to stay in the Camp dorms. We saw, to some degree, what the blind campers who attend summer camp experience. It was a great weekend of learning, fun and fellowship. The Lions attending made donations to support the Camp in the amount of $1,144.35.
