The MD18 Global Leadership Team recently sponsored a first-ever Lions Leadership Camp at our Georgia Lions Camp in Waycross, GA.  With six facilitators leading the Camp, 28 Georgia Lions completed the weekend sessions.  The purpose of the Camp was to identify and encourage new Lions leaders to pursue leadership roles.  Topics covered were (1)How To Develop My Leadership Skills; (2)Leadership Opportunities Beyond the Club Level; (3)Ethics and the Lions Club; (4)Personal Integrity and How It Affects Leadership; (5)Developing Good Members Through Service; and (6) The Global Action Team.

Lions attending were given the opportunity to stay in the Camp dorms.  We saw, to some degree, what the blind campers who attend summer camp experience.  It was a great weekend of learning, fun and fellowship.  The Lions attending made donations to support the Camp in the amount of $1,144.35.

One of the Lions attending said, “This was an awesome experience, and I learned so much about, not only leadership, but also what it means to be a Lion.”  MD GLT Coordinator PCC Grace Clower said, “We are very excited about the success of this inaugural Leadership Camp; and we look forward to expanding it and making it an annual event.”
